Solution: Black Box EMS with Zeus Electrical Services

To address the growing demand for safe, affordable EV charging in Calgary homes, Black Box EMS partnered with Zeus Electrical Services, a trusted and approved installer specializing in residential EV solutions.

Together, we delivered a smart energy management system that:

  • Monitors total household load and automatically interrupts EV charging during peak demand

This empowers homeowners to enjoy Level 2 EV charging without compromising safety or budget.

Installation Process

1-Load Assessment & Planning

Zeus Electrical Services performed a Canadian Electrical Code-compliant load calculation to determine available service capacity and EMS requirements.

2-Mounting & Wiring

The Black Box EMS was installed adjacent to the main electrical panel, with the EV circuit routed through the device for direct load monitoring.

3-Testing & Verification

Using the VT-101 verification tool, technicians simulated peak load conditions to confirm the EMS safely interrupted and restored EV charging as designed.
