PCS-240-50-100
Our patented Power Control System / Energy Management System (PCS / EMS / EVEMS) enables the safe integration of high-amperage electrical loads such as electric vehicle chargers, HVAC systems, and other major appliances without overloading existing electrical services.
Install up to an 11.5 kW (48A) EV charger or other high draw end devices and mitigate load calculations on services that would otherwise require costly upgrades. By monitoring available capacity, and managing the device connected, our system eliminates the need for panel or service upgrades.
The PCS-240-50-100 is designed for 60A–100A main electrical services and supports loads up to 40A FLA and/or 50A continuous resistive loads, making it ideal for EV charging as well as other demanding applications.
Compatible with all major EV manufacturers and adaptable to a wide range of electrical load types. Certified to UL 3141, UL 1741, ULC/ORD-C3141, and CSA C22.2 No. 14 for safety and performance.

It uses intelligent equalization technology to ensure all suites of a multi-residential dwelling have equal access to power when an overload condition occurs and works seamlessly with the Black Box PCS-240 product line. This is an essential part of providing multistage electrical energy management to a Multi-Residential electrical structure thereby alleviating the need for a utility feed, electrical panel and/or service upgrade.
Certified to UL 3141, UL 1741, ULC/ORD-C3141, and CSA C22.2 No. 14 for safety and performance. Functional testing done to CSA SPE 343 standard by QTEST who are accredited by the Standards Council of Canada and in accordance with SPE-1000 and ISO 17020 to ensure safety and code compliance on electrical products.

Combination Splice Box

CSB-125-3R
Combination Splice Boxes can be used for splicing electrical lines in an apartment or condo and adding a breaker to the system before running to the electrical panel in the unit. This is often advantageous when the main electrical room is in, or near, to the parking lot where EV charging is needed.
This can be used as a stand alone product or as an easy add on to our PCS product line when electric load management is required. Breaker size to be specified when ordering, 20A-60A breaker options available.
Certified to UL 1741, and CSA C22.2 No. 14 for safety and performance.

CSB-125

Maintenance and Verification Tools

Adjustable Torque Screwdriver
This torque driver is adjustable from 4 in-lbs (0.5 Nm) to 53 in-lbs (6 Nm). It will provide an unmistakable click when set torque is reached. It adjusts at 0.1 Nm scale to provide just the right torque for each fastener and comes complete with several 1/4" bits.
Proper torquing of connection points is important in the EV industry as EV use maximum rated current for hours at a time and therefore are more susceptible to heat accumulation and loose connections. If adequate torque is not applied to these connections hot spots can develop that can cause abnormally noisy contactors, unreliable operation, and premature failure.
Checking for adequate torquing of these connections should also be part of the maintenance program to keep electrical equipment in good shape.

Replacement Contactor
Our industry-standard normally open (NO) contactors have ratings for both continuous resistive loads and full load amps (FLA), making them suitable for EV chargers, general-purpose, and inductive devices. By utilizing NO contactors, Black Box products can be classified as fail-safe, a designation often preferred by inspection authorities.
